Bridgedale,
socks scientifically proven to outperform the other
brands thanks to
their unique combination of both natural and synthetic fibres. More
comfortable, harder wearing, better at wicking, and featuring a 3-year
guarantee. This is enduring comfort... and here's a little on how it's
achieved...
WoolFusion®
is Bridgedale's unique technology setting them apart from other sock brands.
Bridgedale's WoolFusion®
technology combines the highest quality natural yarns; Merino wool or Tough
wool, and fuses them together with high-performance microfibres; Coolmax®
or Isolfil®. This
unique technology results in socks that perform to the highest level.
WoolFusion® socks
provide supreme, lasting comfort: they are warm when they need to be and
wick when there is excess moisture. Overall they are extremely comfortable
and hard wearing - this is enduring comfort.
T2 Anti
Compression Loop
New technology,
exclusive to the select Bridgedale models such as the X-Hale TrailBlaze.
This is a loop within a loop which offers an additional level of impact
protection; the inner loop has even more resilience than the outer loop for
cushioning when you need it. T2 pad technology has been knit into the
pressure points; ball of the foot, lace up area and achilles, offering
enduring comfort all day long.
Merino Wool
The finest wool available -
particularly as much of the Merino Wool used by Bridgedale is sourced from
New Zealand! Merino is a light, soft wool which enables Bridgedale to knit
socks with excellent handle, guaranteeing no itch. In addition, Merino
provides the excellent thermal and moisture control properties of other
wools.
Enduro Wool
Enduro Wool (New Wool) is the first spin of
wool which guarantees softness and quality. Many other wool yarns are spun
from recycled wool creating an uncomfortable itch. Enduro Wool offers excellent
insulation and is highly breathable. Bridgedale's winter sport socks contain
a combination of New Wool and finer Merino Wool.
CoolMax
This delivers the perfect balance
of wicking, drying and breathability. The fibre's unique 4-channel
construction pulls moisture from the skin and transports it through the
fabric to the outer surface where it can evaporate, or be absorbed by
another fibre.
Lycra
Lycra's remarkable stretch and
recovery properties enhance sock fit.
Endurofil
Endurofil™ is a thermal yarn and
is combined with Tough wool and Merino wool for superb wicking and
durability. Endurofil™ is a polypropylene fibre, which also offers high
abrasion and wash resistance. Approximately 25%
warmer than Coolmax, but 25% less efficient at wicking.
Nylon
Wool is an excellent fibre for
warmth (even when wet), comfort, and for transporting moisture. Its one
‘weak point’ is that it is not a strong fibre. Hence Bridgedale wrap every
strand of wool with a thin strand of nylon, creating a new fibre. This thin
strand of nylon does not affect comfort, but creates an extremely
hardwearing fibre that will last for years on the trail. They are the only
sock manufacturer in the world to have this technology on site.
Some of the construction features common to Bridgedale socks include:

MMS
Construction, Bridgedale's unique Moisture Management System, is
engineered to rapidly move moisture away from the skin.
MMS technology places moisture
conducting yarns against the skin, which transfer perspiration to the outer
absorbing yarns. Moisture is kept away from the skin enabling feet to stay
dry, blister free and comfortable.
